I had to do a blood test for our adoption application last week, and I am very excited that my cholesterol came back at 5.5 which is in the normal range! This is huge for me - in 2011 my cholesterol was at 7.2 and even though I tried to make dietary changes, it wouldn't budge. My GP wanted me to go on medication to bring down my cholesterol but I was very resistant. And now I've done it! So happy right now, just another thing that my sleeve has helped me achieve.
I'm starting to feel like I'm actually living my life!

Weigh in Day
Gee a week comes and goes so quickly. I actually completely forgot to weigh myself today so have just quickly hopped on the scales, and tonight's figure is 93.4kg, which makes it a 900g loss this week.
Each year I try and set myself a goal related to myself. Not a new years resolution, just something that I want to tick off that year. In the past it has mainly been triathlons, which are super awesome, but I need something new. I'm thinking that I would like to try and do my Bronze Medallion. For those that haven't heard of it before, it's basically a swimming lifesavers qualification, but I've want to do it since I was 12. Unfortunately you had to be a minimum of 14 to do the course and so I wasn't eligible at the time, and then other things took over swimming in my life, as they do! My Mum was a swimming teacher, and the love of the water has always stayed with me.
I've got the CPR stuff down pat as I have to have that for work, and already have my Senior First Aid qualification, but there are some things like being able to swim a certain distance in a 15 minute time frame, and from memory you also have to do a fully clothed rescue and tow a person. It's all a little scary, but it's part fitness goal, part life skill that I would love to have, so I'm hoping by the end of the year, that I will be able to achieve it.
Anyhow, onto another week.

Weigh in day
That time of the week again - weigh in time. My weight as of this morning is 94.3kg. Even though I'm not doing a huge amount of exercise, the weight is still steadily dropping. This week is a 1.1kg loss from last weeks weigh in.
I am planning to do a huge clothes collection today to send to the charity bin. Anything that is too big for me, regardless of how much I love it, is going. Hopefully that will make my life much easier in the mornings when I go to find clothes for work, and don't have to try on eleventy billion outfits to find one that fits!

Weigh In
Today is weigh in day and I am now at 95.4kg. I'm setting my next mini goal to get into the 80s! Only five and a bit kilos to go!
I haven't been exercising much this past week - looking after my nieces for a week and a half has taken its toll on me, as has heading back to work. I do plan on getting back into the gym and possible also doing some swimming if I get the chance.
Onto the next week we go!

The big 3-0!
No not my age - I'm talking about how many kilograms I have lost to date! As of last night's weigh in, I am 96.5kg, 30kg lighter than four months ago when I got the ball rolling for surgery. I can really see the difference in my body now - from my legs, my tummy, my arms and my face. My energy levels are great, my eating is going well, and my reflux has settled down a lot. All and all, I am a very happy lady!
