Not a lot of progress this week but at least the scales are still moving in the right direction. Today's weigh in was 89.4kg, so only a 1/2 kilo loss. I'm not too worried, things are pretty busy in my life right now, so the weight loss isn't worrying me too much.
Progress to date - 37 kilos! 4.4kg to go until goal weight.

Belated weigh in
I think I have plateaued a bit this past week and a half. As of Sunday, I
weighed in at 89.9kg, so no movement for a couple of days. I really
need to get back to the gym and try and break out of this sloth-ness. I
just don't seem to be able to find any time! No excuses though.

Make me over!
My favourite moment in reality tv, particularly in Next Top Model, is the makeover episode. You know the one where there are tears and fighting and no-one wants to change their look? Hilarious viewing!
I've done the makeover thing a couple of times in the past, but it's always been no fringe to a fringe, or dark hair to foils - nothing that really has that 'wow' factor. I had no intention that today would be the day to change all of that.
I've always wanted to try short hair, but with my extra weight, my face was, well politely I would call it rotund, but quite simply it was fat. Short hair or a blunt fringe were never going to work for me, no matter what anyone said. I had in the back of my head that I'd like to try out shorter hair, but I was waiting on reaching my original goal weight of 85kg. I had a hairdressers appointment this morning, and she was blown away with my weightloss and told me that I had no reason to wait - I deserved to look amazing NOW, not in 5kg time. How can I argue with a woman with Italian blood and shears in her hands!
So I did it. Four hours in the chair and I am a new person. Not just on the outside, but all of me. I feel like everything about the old me has been wiped clean and I am starting again. I have confidence in myself and my abilities - in my career, my relationship, my hobbies, my friends. I'm starting to work out who I am, and I really like that person.
Anyhow, the grand debut of the new me!
And now for the reveal

Surprised? Me too! Although they do so that blondes have more fun. I'm ready to test the theory out!

Check in
Weigh in time as usual. This weigh in comes with a side of measurements. I figured it was time to see some different numbers to validate what the scales have been telling me.
My measurement progress is below:
Area - 30/8/12 - 9/2/13 - cm lost
Neck - 43cm - 38cm - 5cm
Chest - 133cm - 113cm - 20cm
Waist (bellybutton) - 135cm - 116cm - 19cm
Hips - 143cm - 121cm - 22cm
Bicep - 36cm - 32cm - 4cm
Thigh - 79cm - 65cm - 14cm
Calf - 46cm - 39cm - 7cm
Total cm lost = 91cm lost!
That's the first time I have tallied those measurements up, and it blows me away to even think of how far I've come in this process. While I know I've lost weight in the usual spots - boobs and bum etc, to see the difference in my neck, my legs and my arms, those mean just as much.
Do you know I am starting to feel my bones. Like actual bones in my body. If I run my hand down my upper arm, I don't just feel flab, I can feel my clavicle, and my bicep and tricep muscles. It's just such a weird sensation.
My BMI has dropped from a high of 43.3 at my biggest, to today's BMI - 31.7. I am so close to being in the 'overweight' category, and no longer being obese.
Oh and today's weigh in is 90.6kg, 1.5kg lost this week, which if this trend continues - I will hit the 80's next week! Milestone ahoy!

Work wear
One of my favourite things at the moment is getting dressed up for work. It's a whole new ball game for me. Yes I love getting dressed up, but in the past my options have been very limited. Now I'm dragging all of my old skinny favourites and new purchases together!
I'm trying to (when I remember), post my work outfits to twitter. Here are two from this week. I like comfortable, and not too formal, but try and stay tailored rather than casual.

Comparison Photo time!
I haven't done any comparison photos since December, and as I am busy procrastinating instead of writing my uni assignment which is due in 36 hours, I am finally getting around to uploading some!
I'm loving sorting through my wardrobe and putting together ebay piles and donation piles to move the bigger sizes out of my wardrobe. To say goodbye to clothes in sizes 18 through 24, and no that I will never ever again wear them makes me feel so good.
I went into Myer the other day and told myself that I was just going to try on a couple of size 16 clothes, just to see how close I was, or if I was kidding myself. I tried on four things, all size 16 clothes from regular brands, not plus size brands. Every item fit. Every freaking item. It blew my mind - you literally could not wipe the smile off of my face. My husband was chatting to his Mum on the phone while I was doing changeroom shenanigans, and when he told her, she asked him to buy me my favourite item that I was trying on! How lucky am I!
I picked up four items including my present from my mother in law - a gorgeous Grab blue ombre sleeveless zip up top, which I am hoping to wear to an awards ceremony this month, as well as a work dinner. I also boughta Nicola Finetti dress on sale, down from $150 to $40 on clearance, a Basque cowl neck top, and a Sportscraft summer skirt with stylised palm trees.
Oops and today's weigh in - 92.1kg, 1.3kg loss for the week, and a grand total of 34.4kg lost to date! I am so close to being an '80's' girl!
